Is this a good way to start running?
I'm not really that fit and I want to lose about 3kg
Im going to watch what I eat more carfully over the next few weeks-usually I eat healthy but Im going to reduce the treats
And I'm going to start jogging on top of my normal exercise
If I start jogging/walking when I really can't 2km in the morning and 2km at night and increase it by 1km a week. The circuit is 1km so I can't increase it by anything smaller.
Will this be good or should I start by diong a longer distance?
Great that you are going to start running! Some suggestions: if you are going to run I would do it for a half hour, even if you have to walk but keep going for a half hour. Your body doesn't know how far it is going bur it does now how long it can go before it switches from burning carbohydrates to burning fat. I'll assume the circuit can be run in two directions thus at 15 minutes turn around and run back to your starting point.
I wouldn't run twice a day, it isn't suggested until you are running 135km a week.
You don;t say what your normal exercise is or how strenouos it may be so I would start with running 3 times a week and add 10% of your weekly mileage on a week to increase the distance you are running so as not to do too much too fast. Good luck!
