Installing AM radio in 1999 Chevy Tahoe?

I am putting in a Panasonic CQ-C7105U in my tahoe and the radio came with a wiring harness along with another harness that came with the dash kit. I wanted to connect the two wiring harnesses together so that if we sell the car I can take the after market out and put the factory back in easily.

The only thing I notice about the different harnesses is the gauge of the wires. there is a yellow wire on the panasonic harness labeled "battery 15a" and from what I understand the orange wire on the other harness is the battery wire for that. Does it matter that one battery wire is larger than the other? The same thing also occurs with the ground wire. (other wires seem to be the same)

Also there are two blue wires on one and one blue wire on the other? Think they are the turn on wires, if so why would there be two?

Best advise keep the harness that connects to the back of the new stereo you are installing that has nothing but wires dangling. Go to wal-mart and buy a factory connector for your vehicle.....(less than 10 dollars) and it will also come with the antenna adapter. Look at the manual for the radio to figure out what the wires are...or download the manual from the internet. Match that up with the card on the factory connector to make sure the wires match. connect the 2 harnesses correctly before the install and you should be okay. If the harness is still there on the factory radio and the factory connection is still on the vehicle you should be able to just plug and play...The key is not to cut "any" factory wiring...that is where you start getting into trouble. Blue wires usually mean remote wires....or turn on like you say...for amps...the other blue wire is probably for a power antenna.......

Good luck!
